I will make this a brief post. My first week with MacKinnon Transport and I drove empty into the USA twice. First was to pick up a Wire Cable Coil in Richmond Kentucky delivering to Sarnia Ontario Canada Area and then empty again to Butler Indiana for four small steel coils. I was there 20 hours because the first coil had already been shipped. I was out of hours so had to do the 10 Hour shutdown consequently did not get out of there until 8 PM the next day. I wonder if they have these kinds of p…

Just curious about some of the dangers on the job .I have watched alot of episodes of ice road truckers .I would like to hear about some of the dangers that could happen and if some of the drivers chose this job as an ice road trucker for the thrills. And are there alot of challenges on this job.I would possibly concider this kind of a job but i would not want my wife and family at home worried about me at all times .So how do guys like alex and hugh do this what do their families think and how d…

Currently I have not driven a Big Truck for a year now so I am in the process of re-licensing. Been at home working on the Internet. Finally getting some success. I am busy promoting
Home Income Alliance by Dan Miller. Formerly it was IPC Program then IPC Instant Cash now they are merged into a triple program affordable to everyone with a killer compensation plan. I am doing it because of the training live and video and seeing I w…

Being an individual who is seriously considering the prospect of being an Ice Road Trucker I am wondering if there is an Internet signal when on the road. Perhaps there are transmitter towers that have been put up by the mining companies. I know there is cell phone coverage at the home base wherever that actually is and most likely internet there as well. I would think that most of the terrain is relatively flat up North so signals could easily be transmitted a long way. The longest one way run…

I've been watching Ice Road Truckers for some time now, and alway find it interesting! At first glance, Lisa Kelly would seem to be more of a model than a trucker! But much to my surprise, and delight, she has proven herself to be a fair match for any man behind the wheel! Lisa Kelly! My hat goes off to you! You are not only a beautiful lady, but a skilled proffesional as well! I hope we will all be able to see much more of you over the months to come! Congratulations! You've made my day, and th…

HI once again to all our overseas Truck Drivers,
We at 40FM have launched our new site, it may not be as flashy as some of your sites, but we think its not too bad.
We have added a photo gallery, and we'd love to see you post some photo's of your daily driver's (trucks) there so we can all have a look at the differences between our models here in Australia, to yours.
We added some other new pages, but you can check those out for yourself if you want to.

Now just how mean was that last night of how Jack treated Alex? What a man, wouldn't help him, so they could get out of there and maybe show Alex how to do his chains. Left him out there with an empty trailer in such bad weather. What's wrong with him? I think he needs to go home & set on his front porch...ALONE, because I doubt if he has any friends. My mom is 70 and she wanted to make sure I called him an Old Codger! LOL What a rude person. Wonder what Hugh would've done with a jerk like t…

Although I'm an Alex fan to the hilt, Lisa did really good last night. Alex is getting such a bad start, I feel bad for him. Then there's Hugh with his attitude of saying he'd have to pass Alex a couple times like always. We'll see Hugh, it's not over yet! You need to slow down, your "leader" you newbie, he keeps telling you so....LOL! GO Alex GO!! Good luck!

I'm looking for someone to be an official writer for my main blog about the show - http://www.ice-road-truckers.com. If you're interested in writing one blog post a week (usually a recap of what happened in the show), let me know and we can try to work something out.
Ideally this person will write because they love the show and want to help spread the word, but I can possibly pay a little for a good quality writer. Please send me a message if you're interested in writing and helping out!

Hugh was driving a truck with a shifting pattern he was use to, and Alex was NOT. Hugh folded his little fat arms and "bulled" up! LOL Alex didn't. Alex is the man!

Hugh got a bit too cocky not listening to the trainer when he was told to slow down... he needed to be put in his place lol having him sit in the passenger seat....good for him lol....he is an accident waiting to happen to my point of view... Alex very smart guy ...if I had to choose witch person I would feel safer driving with it would NOT be Hugh that is for sure. Alex I would feel safer driving with him ....he is smart not cocky and does not have to prove anything to anyone unlike Hugh.
