Having spent some time on this forum it has become very clear to me that the show gave some very misleading information regarding the job, the pay etc. Now the hype of the show is over have people calmed down and realised that you can get better conditions and pay trucking on normal roads?
I am interested in working on the Ice Roads but there seems to be a lot of confusion on how to get jobs and despite some of the web sites selling "Giudes on how to get jobs" it seems to be mainly for Canadian Drivers as I found out when I telephone Tli Cho Lantran and spoke to a guy there who told me the drivers were all local guys and they hadn't employed anyone from outside since he could remember.
It all depends on if u r an owner op or working 4 someone else. Not a hell of a lot
working 4 someone else. When u think about the amount of hrs it takes to do a complete run. I would never do it 4 someone else again.
