I am curious in knowing how many members of this community are now or have at some time in the past actually driven a truck. Just curious...

Not at all, the tractor was much cheaper than a new 1 ton dually diesiel, even with the deck I had put on, and much safer and nicer to drive. The oilpatch is so slow here this year I may need to fo find a job running truck somewhere.

Who's your favorite Ice Road Truckers character?
All of them!
What do you do for a living
Flatbed Driver (Off on sebatical 1 Year working on Internet)
Would you ever want to become an Ice Road Trucker? Why?
I am seriously considering this. Being 62 years of age and deep in debt because of various reasons this is a ticket to catch up in a few short months and to actually get some sort of retirement fund going. But money alone can not be the driving factor to do this type of work. It is the pride of managing a vehicle hauling in all types of weather in precarious situations that would drive me to do this. The sense of adventure and experiencing the Canadian North in the dead of winter is something that could fuel a lot of stories to share with my children. Also setting the example that it is OK to work hard and push yourself to be the best you can be. It is a challenge especially at my age but I will continue to research this as I believe I am up to the task.
Do you like Season 1 or Season 2 better so far?
Have not followed them consistently but I like what I see.

On The Road Again 4 Weeks and Counting

They say time flies when your having fun. What I realize about my driving a truck again is its getting tougher instead of easier. I was telling my wife this evening that when I am driving all these great ideas come to mind. Problem is by the time I stop I'm so tired I forget what it was I was thinking about. O.K. so it's not really as bad as that, but let's face it living on the road is a test of stamina. So far with Mackinnon I have been out there four weeks now. I have had a variety of loads i… Continue

OK NOW IT'S OFFICIAL I AM REALLY BACK TO WORK

I will make this a brief post. My first week with MacKinnon Transport and I drove empty into the USA twice. First was to pick up a Wire Cable Coil in Richmond Kentucky delivering to Sarnia Ontario Canada Area and then empty again to Butler Indiana for four small steel coils. I was there 20 hours because the first coil had already been shipped. I was out of hours so had to do the 10 Hour shutdown consequently did not get out of there until 8 PM the next day. I wonder if they have these kinds of p… Continue

Driving The Ice Roads and Making Money Online

Currently I have not driven a Big Truck for a year now so I am in the process of re-licensing. Been at home working on the Internet. Finally getting some success. I am busy promoting Home Income Alliance by Dan Miller. Formerly it was IPC Program then IPC Instant Cash now they are merged into a triple program affordable to everyone with a killer compensation plan. I am doing it because of the training live and video and seeing I w… Continue

Hey there, Dennis. I didn't even know we had a comment wall here. Is it part of ning? My only entry to them is through this forum. It really is a small world. And DC is a small town. When I first moved here from California as student I kept running into people I knew, including a guy from my high school I saw on the street. I'm pretty sure I saw that the project in your photo is finished, but I haven't walked that direction for a while and I wasn't paying much attention when I did. I still don't understand the photo. I could see it more if it was related to what we were talking about. Maybe the host meant that you could post it with a new discussion. I still think it would be better for Panoramio or some place like that. How are you doing on Home Income Alliance? Are you making any money? What's does a thing like that do to help you out? Take care. Joe

Hey Joe, Man it is a small world. I had no idea you lived that close to where I was. I imagine the site project is long completed by now. A for posting the picture here that is what the host said to do unless I misinterpreted. Anyway it is a quick way for me to share directly with the person I am communicating with. Currently I have not driven for a year now so I am in the process of re-licensing. Been at home working on the Internet. Finally getting some success. Have you heard of Home Income Alliance? by Dan Miller. Formerly it was IPC Program then IPC Instant Cash now they are merged into a triple program affordable to everyone with a killer compensation plan. Check it out if you want. I am doing it because of the training live and video and the income potential and the fact that when on the road I can do it as well.
